Victoria's retirement gap travels

I have now arrived in Maine, but there are a few bits and pieces left over from my journey so far.

As northern New Hampshire is mostly tree covered, this photograph shows a typical path.

This is the house I stayed in for a couple of nights in Concord, the state capital of New Hampshire. In the driveway to the right is the car I have hired for 7 weeks, a Toyota Avalon.

Having explored Providence and the areas due south and north east of it, I was left with the north west, south west and south east with only 2 days remaining before moving on to New Hampshire. It turned out that it was impossible to reach the north east by bus and return the same day as the only buses are designed to get people to and from work in Providence.

Realising that Rhode Island is mostly flat, I investigated bicycle hire.

I started my trip to New England with 7 days in Rhode Island. This is a photo of Downtown Providence from a pedestrian bridge over one of its rivers.
