Goodbye to New Hampshire, Hello to Maine
I have now arrived in Maine, but there are a few bits and pieces left over from my journey so far.
Walking in north New Hampshire
As northern New Hampshire is mostly tree covered, this photograph shows a typical path.
New Hampshire – Concord and onwards
This is the house I stayed in for a couple of nights in Concord, the state capital of New Hampshire. In the driveway to the right is the car I have hired for 7 weeks, a Toyota Avalon.
Rhode Island – by bus
Having explored Providence and the areas due south and north east of it, I was left with the north west, south west and south east with only 2 days remaining before moving on to New Hampshire. It turned out that it was impossible to reach the north east by bus and return the same day as the only buses are designed to get people to and from work in Providence.
Rhode Island – by bicycle
Realising that Rhode Island is mostly flat, I investigated bicycle hire.
Providence, Rhode Island
I started my trip to New England with 7 days in Rhode Island. This is a photo of Downtown Providence from a pedestrian bridge over one of its rivers.
Tangiers – and goodbye to Morocco
Looking down on Tangiers harbour from the Kasbah
I decided that the easiest and safest way to return to the UK was from Tangiers to Gatwick, and Assia and Jamel took the opportunity of a mini holiday by accompanying me.
A holiday on the Mediterranean Coast
In early June, other members of the family wanted to go for a jaunt as well.
Ouzoud
Whilst we were still staying in Khouribga, Ayub volunteered to take take us to see the cascades at Ouzoud in the foothills of the Atlas mountains. I think these have the longest drop of any waterfall in Morocco. This needed an overnight stay, so we set off reasonably early one Friday and arrived in Ouzoud just in time for everyone (except me and Assia) to attend Friday Prayers.
